Tasks include: Operating a one-man GPS surveying station to set out points, levels, and collect data on feature locations. Sites I have worked on are civil work sites varying from an under development to a completed stage. Tasks include: Liaising with clients in person or via phone, quoting prices and best option for provision of an aerial image to suit their needs, working in a retail environment selling topographic/tourist/road maps, street directories, atlases, globes, and other mapping supplies, ordering in stock, database entry, checking photo orders or status of order, collecting post, organizing dispatch, balancing the daily takings, opening/closing up shop, working solo on Saturdays, training new staff.
