This data set contains the boundary of the Eastern Intensive Study Area (ISA) of the CPC Ecuador Projects, in the northern Oriente of Ecuador. Purposes include delineation of the ISA on maps, reference for the clipping of larger data sets, and as a physical limit for selected analyses. The selection of the boundary for this ISA was initially an arbitrary decision. There is no relationship between this boundary and any real-world features. The location was based on the latitude/longitude coordinates of two topographic maps, and as such, the horizontal accuracy is considered to be absolute for the purposes of this data set. Two 1:50,000 topographic maps were identified as the desired area for the ISA. The upper corner coordinates were identified for the northern-most map, and the lower corner coordinates were identified for the southern-most map. These four coordinates were recorded in latitude/longitude. Source.
