Well, the difference is that robots are faster, albeit with unpredictable results.
Here is a simple example.
The small town of Alcoy, province of Alicante, Spain.
As you can see for yourself, on the map of Google there is a rather large lake.
In reality, of course, there is no lake there. The robot that was drawing the map mixed up the shadow from the building and the park with the lake. So on the map of Google, a new water body appeared.
Especially glad, I think, are the residents of the city of Alcoy.
This is just one example, in fact, there are many thousands of such (or similar) errors. For example, in China on the territory of a large international airport, there are streets for some reason, and the airport itself is completely absent.
