We also provide complementary services to other AECOM teams working in the sectors of Mining, Transportation, Manufacturing, Industrial and Water. Support of GIS systems, including standards, ISO/AECOM map register, metadata, databases, processes and operating procedures and legal standards. Execution of technical GIS-related project work, including data capturing, acquisition, checking, digitising, collation, conversion, projecting and processing of project data, mapping, database compilation, data manipulation, analyisis, interpretation and reporting. Assisting with management of GIS work within CI, including budgets, deadlines, client expectations and resources, GIS filing system, and marketing materials. Able to communicate clearly to fellow staff, engineers, scientists and clients who do not necessarily have a technical understanding of GIS and its potential applications in AECOM’s operating environment. Practical experience in an engineering environment. Focus areas include, but are not limited to, geo- informatics, transport planning, town and regional planning coursework. Professional registration to be in progress or achieved. Excellence in MS Office software. Proficiency in ArcGIS, with knowledge of ArcGIS software extensions. Other software that would be beneficial to have an understanding of includes but is not limited to AutoCAD, Global Mapper, Planet GIS, Corel Draw, Adobe Photoshop, Google Sketch up, QGIS. Applied knowledge of spatial data use and application in any or as many as possible of AECOM’s, and especially the CI, operational environments. An excellent understanding of how maps and spatial data can be used to not only represent data visually, but enhance decision making and provide analytical insight that assist other specialists in their work. Good understanding of the process and requirements of Water and Transport management planning, including surveys, visualisation of statistics and spatial network analysis.
