The Vector Map, allows you to take in native vector based files such as those from Adobe Illustrator or PDFs. I’ll press M for the Material Editor. And, navigate over to the flooring. That flooring right now is just a solid color grey. And I’m going to use a Vector Map I’ve created for the diffuse texture. I’ll drag the Vector Map right into that diffuse texture either onto the node or onto the material. It shows a proxy for the moment in the Vector Map. Double clicking on that map one Vector Map then shows me the standard coordinates, noise, and parameters where I can select my actual file. I’ll click on the None bar here for the Vector File. And, browse over to the 0403 directory in the chapter04 exercises. I’ll pick floor tiles. And, notice that that’s a native Adobe Illustrator file. I’ll click Open, and it’ll update with my Vector Map of the flooring. When I scroll down, I’ve got a new pattern parameters and Adobe Illustrator PDF Parameters roll out. This will not affect your course history, your reports, or your certificates of completion for this course.
