This course teaches the range of functionality available in the ArcGIS Desktop software and its essential tools for visualizing, creating, managing, and analyzing geographic data, especially as it relates to the technology’s utility for E911 Users. course exercises emphasize practice with ArcMap and ArcCatalog to perform common GIS tasks and workflows. The tools for creating and managing geographic data, displaying data on maps in different ways, and combining and analyzing data to discover patterns and relationships are highlighted. By the end of the course, you will be prepared to start working with software on your own. This course is designed for those with an education in or workplace experience with GIS but no ArcGIS software experience. Knowledge of basic GIS concepts is assumed. * Participants must bring a laptop loaded with ESRI ArchGIS 10.1, or a laptop in which a trial version of the software can be installed by the trainer. * While the training class is free, all travel, per diem, lodging and related expenses are the responsibility of the trainee.
