hyd_nwfp_kws_aoi_2002_a_v1_poly: This theme shows the Key Watersheds that are located on BLM lands and adjacent Forest Service Lands, as identified during the Forest Ecosystem Management Assessment effort (Northwest Forest Plan – Record of Decision 1994). The initial mapping done in 1994 was a very generalized representation and was done prior to the development of the interagency standard 5th and 6th field watershed boundaries. The line work has been made coincident with the 5th and 6th field watershed lines where the Key Watershed Boundaries clearly intended to use a watershed as the boundary. District personnel have reviewed these edits to conform to the 5th and 6th field boundaries and have incorporated other edits to follow operationally identifiable features. This theme reflects the management approach approved in the Record of Decision to the 1995 BLM Resource Management Plans. Covers and is complete for BLM and Forest Service managed lands in Western Oregon/Washington and parts of Northern California. BLM GIS staff combined REO’s ‘reohucv1_3’ and the original ‘Key Watersheds’ layer to create the new ‘Key Watersheds’. The REO lines were used where they closely followed the original Key Watershed lines. Where these lines did not closely match, the original Key Watershed Lines were kept. Edgematching was then performed where the lines did not completely meet. Data was then clipped with the NWFP Boundary and finally built for Poly. Original data was captured in ADS by manual digitizing from paper maps marked with Key Watershed polygons and polygon names. District personnel reviewed and modified the initial boundaries, which were then digitized by OSO contractors.
