Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller has the Colts taking outside linebacker Eli Harold in the first round of his most recent seven round mock draft. circles right now, but he will be once the draft season heats up. He’s 6’4′, 250 pounds and has the length, speed and agility to become a star at outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense. Harold, teamed with the existing linebacker corps, will give the Colts a pass rush that can help keep Andrew Luck’s offense in more games. In the first round, Miller has the Colts going defense, which will be applauded by many of you I’m sure. He has the Colts going with an outside linebacker to help the pass rush, . Eli Harold was just a two-year starter at Virginia, yet he racked up 141 tackles (36.5 for loss), 17.5 sacks, and four fumble recoveries in a pass rush role. Miller’s pick of Johnson in the second round is the same thing that Dan Kadar had in his two round mock yesterday, as the Colts do need running back help. Some might think second round is too early for the Colts to address the position (and I would agree), but it’s clear that the Colts do need help in that area. Further positions that Miller has the Colts addressing are cornerback, offensive line, safety, and inside linebacker – which, added to the outside linebacker and running back, pretty much nails the offseason needs for the Colts. The real question, of course, is how those players will turn out.
