As the structure of distribution network becoming more complicated, power distribution equipments being various, equipments updating fast, the management area being bigger, how to capture and update the spatial data in the distribution network become the focus of the research in distribution network GIS. Huge GIS client products and professional technical requirements of personnel make the traditional C/S mode of spatial data editing difficult to meet customers’needs. At the present, many domestic and foreign institutions focus on the research of , Which has been limited to the basic functions such as information navigation, inquiry, but the examples of online editing system based on WebGIS are few.According to the actual project demand, this paper designs and develops an online editing system for spatial data of distribution network based on WebGIS. The system is aimed at resolving the real-time updating problems of the spatial data, and provides a more convenient platform for the data editors who work in the distribution network center. Firstly based on thorough discussions of existing WebGIS technology, this paper analyzed the characteristics of spatial data of distribution network, designed the object-oriented spatial data model of distribution network GIS, pointed out that the online editing function based on WebGIS played an important role in the spatial data management of distribution network, and put forward the feasibility and scientificity of online editing system. Secondly it studied the architectures of , discussed the realization and detailed process of online editing for spatial data based on version, and realized the function that multiple users could edit parallelly. Thirdly it studied the Ajax asynchronous refresh technology and .net Callback mechanism, which enhanced the response speed of the server and improved the user experience.In the concrete realization part of the system, on top of the basic functions such as browse and inquiry, this paper kept an eye on the design and implementation of online editing function.
