Geographically, Southeast Asia includes the Indochina Peninsula, the Malay archipelago, and the Western part of the island of New Guinea.
The total area of this region is about 4.5 million square kilometers (of which land – only 3%).
South-East Asia is a densely populated region of the world, especially given the ratio of land and water. The population is approximately 8.6% of the total ” ball ” and is more than 550 million people.
The States of the region are as follows: South-East Asia
- Burma (Myanmar),
- East Timor
All of these countries vary in size and population, differ dramatically in terms of socio-economic development, some of them, but in addition to their geographical location, they are invariably United by the similarity of ecosystems and management, as well as a very long community of historical processes.
Southeast Asia is located between the Pacific and Indian ocean basins and inevitably falls throughout history under the influence of two great world powers — India and China. In the era of development of the Europeans of navigation, it has become an important crossroads for seafarers and traders. Europeans since then, I try to fixate on these areas that fail to fully. Local rulers at different times found ways to protect the excessive population from the alien race.
The uniqueness of South-East Asia lies in the fact that the diversity that can be found among the countries and ethnic groups in these territories not only does not destroy the regional community but forms its brightest characteristic.
Southeast Asia peoples
The countries of the region live relatively peacefully between each other, at least as long as the United States does not interfere there (remember the wars in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia). In General, the States of Southeast Asia confront the challenges of globalization, making the region an important economic player in the world and a major part of the Asia-Pacific region.
Southeast Asia is located in sub-Equatorial and Equatorial climatic zones, which makes it very attractive for tourists from all over the world. Heat and humidity are here in abundance, the soil is fertile. Of all Asia, the South-East is the most heavily forested.
Exotic for us iron, red, rosewood, ebony with hard, but moisture-repellent wood is in great demand. This wood is not sold by wagons like Siberian forests. Local artels make of it products, Souvenirs and furniture, then sell to tourists or for export.
The forests of the region are full of wildlife, among which the truth is often found poisonous specimens. In the fields, under the scorching sun, the villagers are digging restlessly. Happy elephants roam around and lurk under the palm trees skinny cow (here, for them, this complexion is the norm).
Well, you can write whole books about the beaches.
Beaches in Southeast Asia cannot be counted, for different tastes and budgets, with clear water or not, with fish and without, right at the hotel or away from civilization.
