Export for edit in Adobe Indesign – Global Mapper Forum

Welcome to our new forum platform. We realize there is still some work to do and we appreciate your patience. Please let us know if you have any ideas or suggestions: paul@globalmapperforum.com Which would be the best format to export my map so that I could import it into adobe indesign? I want to add text and additional labels to the map. Another good (possibly simpler) option, is to export as Raster, choose type GeoTiff. With this format, you can specify an output scale and DPI in the export dilaog. We then drag the resulting TIFF into CorelDraw and it imports at the correct scale - this should work for InDesign too - please report back. A little bit of trimming of the image to your drawing frame and you have the perfect background to add labels, titles etc. The advantage with PDF export is that you get the vectors present in the GM file (eg grids, outlines) and can edit them in vector-based software which can import PDF. We generally find we are happy with the single-layer GeoTiff image and it provides a very straightforward workflow.
