Hello to Maptitude/Adobe/Corel users, can you show us some of the map (art work) that you have edited with Corel or Adobe? I wish there is a Maptitude Map Gallery because I always like to get some new idea from other people to publish map. Also I can show it to my boss so I can purchase a copy of Adobe Illustrator or Corel. Corel has the full capability of accepting Adobe PDF’s as vector but again I like to chose the path of least resistance as far learning curves go and for me Corel allowed me to hit the ground running with less effort than Adobe did. For what I do with maps, I’m not concerned with exporting my map out as vectors, though I can appreciate the benefit. But more so, because I don’t know any better, which is why I prefaced my comment as being unnecessary. I’ve just found that exporting a map as an image was alot easier to manage for what I do, than dealing with a PDF. This graphic design stuff, although I enjoy the freedom to explore my creativity, it’s a big pain in my @$$ but necessary to publish the type of maps that I want. I apologize for showing preference to Corel over Adobe but the point again was to emphesis the pain that exsits for the need for better publishing tools (graphic design tools) in GIS. I realize that this is easier said than done but I guess that’s why they call them wish lists but I sure do wish GIS software (Maptitude) would incorporate more graphic design capabilites. It would aliminate the need for third party software…..one stop mapping so to speak. Source.
